On May 30, 2023, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology issued Announcement No. [2023] 62, titled “Notice on the Interim Regulations for Radio Management of Wireless Charging (Power Transmission) Equipment by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.” The regulations will be effective from September 1, 2024. From the effective date, the production or importation for sale and use of wireless charging equipment that does not comply with these regulations will be prohibited. However, wireless charging equipment produced or imported before the effective date can continue to be sold and used until they are scrapped. The regulations apply to wireless charging equipment for mobile communication terminals, portable consumer electronic products, and electric vehicles (including motorcycles). Devices falling under these regulations do not need to apply for radio transmission equipment type approval but must meet the relevant technical requirements and display a specific label as required by the national regulations in the future.
