Update to Taiwan EV Charging Equipment VPC to be effective 6/29/2023, all prior issued certificates should be updated for validity

On June 29, 2023, the Bureau of Standards, Metrology and Inspection (BSMI) of the Ministry of Economic Affairs announced the revision of the “Electric Vehicle Charging Equipment” Voluntary Product Certification (VPC) system, incorporating information security verification items into the voluntary product certification for “Electric Vehicle Charging Equipment.” The announcement regarding the revision of the “Electric Vehicle Charging Equipment” VPC will be effective from June 29, 2023. The previous certification standards will no longer apply from July 1, 2023. Enterprises that have obtained VPC certificates before the revision should complete information security verification at designated laboratories recognized by the Bureau of Standards, Metrology and Inspection based on the latest revision announcement before July 1, 2023, to avoid affecting the validity of their VPC certificates.
